Schedule, Fixtures for Zimbabwe Vs Sri Lanka 2016

Zimbabwe is set to host Sri Lanka for a two match test series in the month of October and November. The series will see the sides in action in two test matches. Both the cricket teams have finalized and announced their squads for the series. Sri Lankan captain Angelo Matthews and Dinesh Chandimal are not selected for the tour because of the hectic cricketing schedule. The players will back for the big series against South Africa at the end of the year. Rangana Herath is set to lead the side into this series and is going to be the oldest player to captain a test side for Srilanka since Somachandra de Silva.

Sri Lanka have selected their 15 member squad for the tour and have included three new players in Kasun Madushanka, Asela Gunaratne and Lahiru Kumara. Angelo Matthews has been ruled out of the series after told to rest due to long cricketing schedule ahead which will see the side tour South Africa. Niroshan Dickwella is going to be first choice wicketkeeper for the series for Srilanka as Chandimal is also rested for this tour.

The first test match will played at Harare on 29th October. Zimbabwe also will be led by newly appointed skipper Graeme Cremer. The side is expected to go full strength as Chris Mpofu and Malcolm Waller are included in the squad for the series. The side has included three young players in Taurai Muzarabani, Tarisai Masakadza and Carl Mumba.The experienced pair of Tendai Chatara and Tinashe Panyangara are ruled out of the series against Sri Lanka due to injuries. The first test is special occasion for Zimbabwe as they will be geared up to play their 100th test match since becoming a full member nation way in the early 1990s.
