Pakistan side is going to miss the services of their top batsmen Younis Khan who has been sidelined from the first day night test against West Indies due to suffering from dengue fever. The prolific run scorer for Pakistan has not regained full fitness as doctors has advised him to take rest for two more weeks and take it slowly to get back into competitive cricket.
Younis Khan has conveyed his condition to the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq as he is set to sit out the first test.The Pakistan selection committee has yet to announce the test squad for the series against West Indies.Younis Khan will be available for selection once he regains full fitness to be included into the squad. Khan missed the first stage of Quaid-e-Azam trophy as he was diagnosed with dengue fever and was hospitalized in local hospital in Karachi.He is advised to take adequate rest to fully recover from the illness and is expected to fit for the second test that is going to be played at Abu Dhabi.
He has played 41 consecutive test matches for Pakistan and scored over 3800 runs in the period from 2011 till 2016.He last missed a test match way back in 2011 against West Indies played at St.Kitts.He last innings of 211 runs at the Oval helped Pakistan side level the series 2-2 against England in England. Pakistan will begin their test campaign with first game being a day-night affair for the first time in Dubai on 13th October The second game will be played at Abu Dhabi and final game to be staged at Sharjah on 30th October.
