Yadav, Gambhir gun down Kings XI Punjab by eight wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders notched up a comfortable win against Kings XI Punjab in a game played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The eleventh game of the Indian Premier League saw Knight Riders continue their winning streak against Kings XI Punjab that has now stretched to last seven encounters between the two teams. Gautam Gambhir as captain of Knight Riders led from the front to score unbeaten 72 runs after an impressive bowling performance by Umesh Yadav who bagged four wickets to restrict Punjab to 170 runs off 20 overs. Sunil Narine bowled economical four over spell conceding 19 runs and then later opened with Gambhir to score 37 runs off 18 balls.

The score set by Kings XI Punjab saw Knight Rider suffer no hiccups as the home team cruised to victory by eight wickets in the 16th over. Gambhir scored his runs at a good rate to go past David Warner and hold the Orange Cap for Most Runs in the Competition. Kings XI Punjab key players got off to decent starts and could not produce substantial scores needed to push the score above 180-run mark as Yadav took out key players like Glenn Maxwell and David Miller to see Kings XI restricted for  a modest total.

Kolkata Knight Rider would be pleased with this performance after suffering a shock defeat against Mumbai Indians a few days back while Kings XI will look to assess what went wrong for them in this game.
