West indies win by 7 wickets against Srilanka in a emphatic manner

The battle to go top of the table took place between West indies and Srilanka at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium,Bengaluru.

The West indies team were in good shape going into  the match while Srilanka did give scratchy performance against Afghanistan in their opening game.

Srilanka were put into bat by West indies Skipper Darren Sammy who chose to bowl first.The innings started on a steady note for Lankan Tigers as openers Dinesh Chandimal and Tilakaratne Dilshan looked positive from the start.

The game turned once Tilakaratne Dilshan was dismissed by medium pacer Brathwaite due to poor decision made by the umpire.Samuel Badree came onto the attack and provided key wickets to stem the flow of runs.The Srilankans were reeling at 5 for 47 runs after 8 overs.

The Srilankan did manage to reach 127 runs after 20 overs due to efforts of Thisara Perera who scored 40 runs and Angelo Matthews who scored 20 runs.

In reply,West indies Keith Fletcher stole the show with his belligerent 84 runs who remained unbeaten alongside Andre Russell on the other end to give his team victory by 7 wickets.
