Virat Kohli produced an outstanding performance to help India beat Australia by six wickets in the third T20I to finish the three-match series 1-1 in Sydney on Sunday.
The day started with the home side’s captain Aaron Finch winning the toss and opting to bat first. His decision proved a correct one as the Kangaroos off to a flying start, courtesy 68-run partnership for the first wicket between Finch and D’Arcy Short. But once the former departed in the ninth over, the Men in Blue made a grand comeback and reduced the Baggy Greens to a par total of 164 from their 20 overs.
Short finished the innings with the top score of 33 off 29 balls with the help of five fours, whereas Finch, wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey, and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis scored 28, 27 and 25 respectively. For the visitors, left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya was the star of the show as he claimed figures of four for 36 in his fours overs.

In reply, Team India had a brilliant start, courtesy 67-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan inside first six over. But once the latter departed, the home side made a grand comeback and claimed three wickets in quick succession.
However, India’s skipper Kohli kept his calm in the tense run-chase and took his team over the line with two balls to spare. Kohli finished the innings with the top score of unbeaten 61 off just 41 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes, whereas Dhawan scored 41 off just 22 balls with the help of two sixes.
For Australia, Mitchell Starc, Andrew Tye, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa claimed a wicket each. India will certainly have gained some confidence going into the four-match Test series that begins from 6th December at the Adelaide Oval.
