Vihari, Bumrah help India clinch Test series

Hanuma Vihari produced splendid batting performance followed by Jaspreet Bumrah excellent bowling to help India beat lackluster Sri Lanka by 257 runs in the second Test of series at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

The match started with West Indies captain Jason Holder winning the toss and opting to bowl first. His decision proved to correct one as India batted exceedingly well and scored 416 runs , courtesy brilliant batting performance from batting trio of Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari and Mayank Agarwal.

Hanuma Vihari was the standout performer for India in the first innings and scored 111 off 225 balls with the help of 16 boundaries. He was well supported by likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma. Indian Captain Virat Kohli chipped in with a sublime 76 off 163 balls with the help of 10 boundaries.

In response, Jaspreet Bumrah produced a probing new-ball spell to see West Indies get bundled out for 117 runs in 47.1 overs. Shimron Hetymer was the top-scorer for West Indies and scored 34 off 57 balls with the help of seven fours.

For India, Jaspreet Bumrah was standout performer with the ball and finished with figures of 6 for 27 in 12.1 overs. Mohammad Shami also picked up two wickets while Ishant Sharma and Ravendra Jadeja claimed one wicket each.

In their second innings, India declared 168 for 4 in 54.4 overs, courtesy splendid half-centuries from Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari.For West Indies, pace bowler Kemar Roach was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three wickets.

Chasing 468 runs for victory, West Indies did produce much of a fight and were bundled out for 210 in 59.5 overs to see India register a mammoth win.Shamarh Brooks was the top-scorer for West Indies as he scored fighting 50 off 119 with the help of nine boundaries.

For India, pace bowler Mohammad Shami and left-arm orthodox spinner claimed three wickets each. Ishant Sharma also bowled well and picked up two wickets in the second innings.

For his outstanding batting performance, Hanuma Vihari was awarded man of the match.
