Unstoppable Australia rout Pakistan in 3rd ODI for another series win abroad

Australia completed their second series win in a row after brushing aside Pakistan in the third game of the one-day series played in Abu Dhabi.

Captain Aaron Finch continued his splendid form and scored 90 runs to help Australia post a competitive score on the board. Glenn Maxwell certainly provided impetus at the end and smashed a crucial half-century to see Australia gain momentum and confidence going into the break.

In pursuit of 267 runs, Pakistan were unable to get going in their innings as Pat Cummins made early inroads with the new-ball. Imam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik added 59 runs to lead the recovery for Pakistan after the loss of three wickets. Umar Akmal and Imad Wasim played well for Pakistan and it wasn’t enough as the home side was bundled out for 186 runs in 44.4 overs.

Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch played leading roles as Australia beat Pakistan by 80 runs to clinch the one-day series in Abu Dhabi.

Earlier in the game, Pakistan made two changes in their playing XI for this game with Usman Khan Shinwari and Junaid Khan coming into the side. Usman Khuwaja and Shaun Marsh perished for low scores to see Australia in a spot of bother at 20 for 2.

Aaron Finch joined hands with Peter Handscomb to rebuild the innings for Australia. The duo added 84 runs to see Australia placed in a comfortable situation after 23 overs. Handscomb was dismissed by Haris Sohail to see Australia lose their third wicket. He scored 47 off 43 balls with the help of six fours.

Marcus Stoinis’s poor run of form continued as he perished for 10 runs to see Australia placed in a precarious situation at 140 for 4 after 30.5 overs.

Finch continued to keep the scoreboard tick along nicely. He scored 90 off 136 balls with the help of five fours and a six.Glenn Maxwell certainly changed the complexion of the game as he scored quickly to see Australia add 90 runs from their last 10 overs. Maxwell scored 71 runs off 55 balls with the help of eight fours and a six.

Wicket-keeper Alex Carey proved to ideal foil for Maxwell at the other end, as he chipped in with unbeaten 25 off 21 balls.Australia was able to post 266 runs for the loss of six wickets in their full quota of overs.

For Pakistan, Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim and Left-arm quick Usman Khan Shinwari bowled well and conceded less than four runs an over in the innings.

Pace bowler Pat Cummins was named man of the match for his scintillating bowling performance. The fourth game of the one-day series will be played in Dubai on Friday.
