Umar Akmal’s blazing 73 runs helps Trinbago Knight Riders upstage St.Lucia Zouks by 3 wickets

The 24th game of the Caribbean Premier League saw St. Lucia Zouks who were on a winning streak take on defending Champions Trinbago Knight Riders at Gros Islet in St.Lucia.Zouks came into this game on the back of winning three consecutive games against struggling Trinbago Knight Riders. The win will act as a morale boosting one for defending Champions Trinbago Knight Riders who are placed at third in the overall points table in the Caribbean Premier League 2016.

Umar Akmal produced a scintillating innings to help his side Trinbago Knight Riders win the game by three wickets. Akmal came to the crease when the side was in spot of bother placed at 63 for 5 after nine overs. He struck seven sixes in his innings to score unbeaten 73 runs off 35 balls to snatch a win from a position when it looked improbable with Zouks in command of the game. The crucial partnership between Anton Devcich and Akmal saw Knight Riders make a comeback into the game. Akmal was also well supported by lower order player like Sunil Narine who did hit two sixes to help to reduce the pressure on the side.

The game was the last one before the tournament will stage all the games in United States as all teams will raring to perform in front of crowd and produce quality cricket on the field.
