Trinbago Knight Riders trump St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in a close contest

Trinbago Knight Riders once again came out on top in a close contest against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots played at Port of Spain. Dinesh Ramdin produced a match-winning innings with the bat to take his side to win the game by four wickets. Dwayne Bravo and his men are just one step away from securing their place in the playoffs of the competition.

Knight Riders were reduced to 89 for 5 after 14 overs but Ramdin stayed composed under pressure to steer his side to an improbable win. He added 41 runs with Bravo to keep the side in the hunt till the end. Ramdin took 19 runs off Carlos Brathwaite to see the side needing only three runs from the last over of the innings. He finished the game in a a befitting style by cracking a four to the boundary line off the bowling of Hasan Ali. Sunil Narine (5) and Brendon McCullum (16) could not weave their magic with the bat as they fell in the initial over of the innings.

Darren Bravo also perished for just 1 but Munro played well as he produced crucial 36 runs to keep the scoreboard ticking along nicely. Samuel Badree got rid of Munro to see Trinbago lose their fourth wicket of the innings after 12 overs.

Earlier in the game, Patriots batted first as Jonathan Carter and Shamarh Brooks chipped with crucial knocks to help the side post 159 runs on the board. Sunil Narine and Kevon Cooper once again were economical as they conceded less than six runs an over. Carlos Brathwaite and Mohammad Nabi also added vitals at the end to push the score beyond 150-run mark.

Trinbago sit comfortably at the top of the table in Caribbean Premier League while Patriots suffered their first defeat of the season.
