Despite their poor form in the last couple of years, there is no doubt that Current World T20 Champions; West Indies will be looking to make an impression in 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia. Due to coronavirus pandemic, there will be doubts whether the competition will be staged during that period. Conditions are expected to be ease out and expect cricketing competitions to be staged in some capacity.
Given their unpredictable nature and cricketing flair, West Indies can certainly go the distance and clinch their third crown this year. Newly appointed Captain Kieron Pollard has the leadership qualities to make sure that the side are mentally prepared for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

Opener Lendl Simmons has shown consistency with the bat for the side in the T20 format. He was part of the side that won the T20 World Cup in Australia. He was instrumental in helping West Indies pull off a stiff chase against India in the semifinals of 2016 T20 World Cup. Simmons smashed 82 runs off 51 balls with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes.
Since May 2019, Simmons has accumulated 282 runs in 9 innings at an average of 47.00 with three half-centuries to their name. He will be looking to make an impression with the bat in this year’s T20 World Cup.
The 32-year old all-rounder will be looking to lead from the front with the bat. Since past couple of year, Pollard has been a consistent performer with the bat in the T20 format. Since May 2019, Pollard has accumulated 335 runs in 10 innings at an average of 41.87 with 2 half-centuries to his name.
Left-arm medium-pacer has been a consistent wicket-taker for West Indies in the shortest format of the game. Cottrell has the ability to pick wickets with the new and old ball. The 30-year old has been the leading wicket-taker with 16 scalps to his name. He will be looking to produce his best with the bat in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
