Sydney Sixers produced an all-round clinical performance while playing at home against Perth Scorchers in the 7th game of the Big Bash League. The hosts bowled well to restrict Scorchers for a modest total of 130 runs from 20 overs and then completed the chase in the 18th over to win the game.
Scorchers batted first and struggled right throughout the innings. Mitchell Marsh played a good innings of 31 runs to help his side post 130 runs on the board. Sixers produced a perfect tactics for Scorchers as they started with spinners in the initial Power play overs and the result was that the spin trio of Will Sommerville, Steve O’Keefe and Johan Botha took four wickets between them and only conceded less than 60 runs from their ten overs.
Botha was the star with the ball for Sixers and also chipped in with the bat to score an unbeaten 30 runs to help his side register a six wicket victory over Perth Scorchers. Sydney Sixers started the chase on a decent note as Sam Billings got them off to a quick start as he went onto score 40 runs off 30 balls.
Andrew Tye bowled well for Scorchers as he finished with three wickets and conceded 15 runs from 4 overs was only positive that the side could take out from the game after timid display with the bat at Sydney.
