Sunrisers Hyderabad put up an all-round performance to defeat Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets

The eighteenth game in the Indian Premier League 2016 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad take on bottom of the table team Kings XI Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium,Hyderabad.

David Warner won the toss and decided to put Kings XI Punjab to bat first.Kings XI lost a crucial wicket of the opener Murali Vijay as he was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar who bowled a perfect out swinger to strike for his side.Manan Vohra was playing well until he fell short of his ground to be dismissed for 25.The initiative completely wrested in favor of Sunrisers Hyderabad when medium pacer Moises Henriques grabbed two important wickets of David Miller and Glenn Maxwell in quick succession.

Mustafizur Rahman was particularly outstanding in the game as he bowled superb spell to finish with two wickets and conceded only nine runs from his four overs.Shaun Marsh was top scorer with 40 runs for Kings XI Punjab while late hitting by Axar Patel helped them to reach a score of 143 runs after 20 overs.

In reply,Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner came out all guns blazing scoring freely, putting up an opening stand of 90 runs in the first ten overs.David Warner scored his third  consecutive fifty as he made 59 runs off 31 balls that included  seven fours and three sixes.Shikhar Dhawan also played well for his 45 runs before he was dismissed by medium pacer Rishi  Dhawan.

Moises Henriques was at the crease to steer his side to victory after couple of quick wickets saw Sunrisers Hyderabad getting a little complacent to still win the match by 5 wickets.Sunrisers Hyderabad did register their third consecutive win after losing their first two games in the Indian Premier League 2016
