St Kitts & Nevis Patriots register their first win by brushing aside Zouks by 58 runs

A powerful display of hitting by Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis did take St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to register a commanding win over St Lucia Zouks by 58 runs in game played at Warner Park, Basseterre. The pair provided an ideal start for Patriots as they managed put up 69 runs in just six overs. Erin Lewis top scored with 73 runs as Patriots managed to post 203 runs in 20 overs.

The stand was eventually over as Simmons was dismissed by left arm spinner Derone Davis as Shane Watson took a comfortable catch. Watson with his medium pace got the better of Erin Lewis as he perished in the 12th over but late order quick runs helped the side go pas over 200 runs. Morne Morkel and Shane Watson were expensive in the last four overs. Watson did get the wicket of Thomas and Carlos Brathwaite but the target looked ominous for the side batting second.

Johnson Charles and Shane Watson did provide a good start for St. Lucia Zouks as they put on 90 runs in nine overs while chasing a big score. Samuel Badree got his side back into the game as he managed to dismiss Charles for 40.Shane Watson scored a nice half century off 26 balls but could not go on to score a match winning score. The dismissals triggered a slide for the Zouks as they only managed to add 45 runs in the last eight overs.
