Leg-spinner Imran Tahir delivered a scintillating performance in the Super over to help South Africa beat Sri Lanka in the first T20I game of the series played in Cape Town on Tuesday.
With this result, the home side have taken 1-0 lead in the three-match series after a clinching a thriller in Newlands, Cape Town.
In reply, Sri Lanka produced a credible effort with the ball to take the game into extra time.South Africa certainly made a hash of the situation as experienced batsman like JP Duminy was run-out in bid to take two runs of the bowling of Isuru Udana.
Imran Tahir came to the crease and took the single off the final ball of the innings to level the scores. Wicket-keeper Niroshan Dickwella certainly missed a huge opportunity to run-out Dale Steyn.
In the Super Over, David Miller smashed a six and a four off the bowling of pace bowler Lasith Malinga to see South Africa post 15 runs to win.

Chasing 135 runs to win, opener Reeza Hendricks perished for yet another low score after being run-out by fielder Dhananjaya de Silva. Quinton de Kock got off to a slow start as South Africa scored 30-odd runs in the first six overs.
Part-time spinner Dhananjaya de Silva dismissed de Kock to see South Africa lose their second wicket in the sixth over of the innings.
Captain Faf du Plessis also looked pro-active at the crease and scored 21 off 23 balls with the help of two fours and a six. Leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay dismissed du Plessis to see South Africa placed in a precarious situation at 52 for 3 after 9.3 overs.
David Miller came to the crease and took the attack to the Sri Lankan bowlers. He rotated the strike well against the spinners. The crucial moment came when he smashed three four and a six off the bowling of medium-pacer Isuru Udana.
He put on 66-run partnership with Rassie van der Dussen to put South Africa in a commanding position to win the game. He was well supported by van der Dussen, who also chipped in with 34 off 30 balls with the help of one six.
Pace bowler Lasith Malinga came into the attack and dismissed van der Dussen in the 16th over of the innings.
David Miller also could not last longer as he was run-out by trying to take a second run off the bowling of Malinga. He scored 41 off 23 balls with the help of five fours and a six.
Andile Phehlukwayo and Kagiso Rabada were dismissed to see South Africa suffer a collapse and lose the momentum at the back end of the innings.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka started in a poor fashion as openers Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Mendis perished in the initial over of the innings. Avishka Fernando and Kamindu Mendis led the fightback of sorts for Sri Lanka.
Fernando scored 16 off 15 balls with the help of two sixes. He was dismissed by medium-pacer Lutho Sipamla to see Sri Lanka lose their third wicket with 42 runs on the board.
Mendis played exceedingly well and top-scored for Sri Lanka with 41 runs. He smashed three fours and two sixes in his innings. The likes of Angelo Perera, Thisara Perera and Dhananjaya de Silva also chipped in with crucial cameos to push Sri Lanka beyond 130-run mark.
For South Africa, medium-pacer Andile Phehlukwayo was standout bowler in the game with three wickets to his name.
David Miller was named man of the match for his splendid batting display against Sri Lanka.The second game of the T20I series will be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Friday.
