Sharjeel Khan produces a splendid ton as Pakistan brush aside Ireland by 255 runs

The first one day played between Ireland and Pakistan at Dublin turned out to be one sided affair as the visitors won by a comprehensive margin of 255 runs due to splendid ton by opening batsman Sharjeel Khan.

Sharjeel scored his maiden ton as he struck sixteen fours and nine sixes in his innings. He scored 152 runs off 86 balls to help his side put up 337 runs on the board. Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and debutant Mohammad Nawaz also chipped in telling contributions with the bat. Ireland ran out of steam in their chase to get bundled out for 82 to see Pakistan win the contest in no time.

Mohammad Amir bowled well to get rid of Paul Sterling in the opening over of the Ireland innings. Umar Gul also bowled well and took three wickets to make a good comeback after a long layoff from the game. Imad Wasim was the pick among the bowlers as he took 5 wickets and conceded 14 runs to destroy the lower order in a single go.

Sharjeel was named player of the game for his superb innings that helped Pakistan attain a comfortable win over hosts.
