New Zealand is all set to tour India in the month of October to play three-match one-day series followed by three T20 internationals. India series against Australia has finished as third and final game of the T20 series was abandoned due to soggy outfield. Virat Kohli and co. believes that New Zealand will present a different challenge with the bat and ball as compared to Australians who were not up to the mark on this tour.
Kiwis did play three-match test series against India last year and also lost the one day series by a close margin. Kane Williamson’s side would definitely be looking to turn the tables on the hosts who completely dominated them across all formats last season. The tour for the Kiwis will begin with a warm-up game against Board President’s XI in Mumbai. Another practice will be played on the same venue on 19th October.
The first one-day game of the series will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 22nd October. The other venues for the series are Pune and Kanpur. The T20 internationals will be played at places like Delhi, Rajkot and Trivandrum. The first T20 game will be played on 1st November at Delhi.
New Zealand had a poor run in India last time after being whitewashed in the Test series. Tom Latham was the standout player for New Zealand while Tim Southee excelled in the series with the ball in hand. The Kiwis last played one-day cricket two months back in the ICC Champions Trophy and would be focused to make the most of the two practice games before the one-day series. Will India prevail again in the series or New Zealand strike back to upset the odds as all the action will begin from 22nd October?
