Pakistan tour of Ireland, England and Scotland 2018 is all set to begin in the month of May as green shirts will first play one-off Test against Ireland on 11th May in Dublin. It is certainly going to be historic game as Ireland is making its debut in the longer format of the game.
Earlier this year, Ireland and Afghanistan were granted full-membership status which meant that they will be able to play test cricket in the future. After the conclusion of the tour of Ireland, Pakistan will play two-test match series against England. They will then travel to Scotland to play two T20 games in Edinburgh.
Pakistan Test Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will be keen to start on a good note. The side will be keen to turn their fortunes in the longest format of the game. Last year, Pakistan lost their home series against Sri Lanka played in UAE. The squad picked consists of new players like Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf, Usman Salahuddin, Saad Ali, and Imam-ul-Haq are included in the setup. Azhar Ali is the premier batsman for the side in the format and will be keen to do well on this tour.
Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, and Sarfaraz Ahmed are decent players and can score big runs for the side. Haris Sohail also played a couple of games for the side in the format and would be keen to make an impression on this tour.
Rahat Ali, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Amir are pace options for Pakistan for the tours of Ireland and England. Shadab Khan has been selected as a spin option in the absence of Yasir Shah, who has been a premier bowler for Pakistan in the Test format for past couple of years.
The one-off game against Ireland will be played at Malahide Cricket Club, Dublin on 11th May. Pakistan will then tour England for two-match series. The first game of the Test series will be played at Lords Cricket Ground, London on 24th May 2017. The second and final game of the series will be played at Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds on 1st June 2017.
After the tour of England, Pakistan is scheduled to play two T20I games against Scotland. Both the games will be played on Grange Cricket Club Ground, Edinburgh on 12th and 13th June.
