West Indies is all set to tour New Zealand to play three T20Is and two Tests starting from 27th November. The visitors are currently going through a mandatory 14-day quarantine day period and will resume practice session in order to prepare for the upcoming three-match T20I series.
Kieron Pollard will lead the side for the three-match T20I series against New Zealand. All-rounder has been playing competitive cricket since the past couple of months. Pollard also showed excellent form for Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded Indian Premier League.
Uncapped Kyle Mayers have earned his maiden call-up to the T20I squad after doing exceedingly well for Barbados Tridents in this year’s Caribbean Premier League. He will be looking to make an impression with bat in his debut series.
In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Kieron Pollard, Shimron Hetymer and Nicholas Pooran to make notable contributions in this T20I series. The return of experienced Andre Fletcher will bolster the batting resources for West Indies for the forthcoming T20I series.
Keemo Paul, Fabian Allen and Rovman Powell are three genuine all-rounders included in the West Indies squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand.
Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas and Kesrick Williams are prominent pace options for West Indies for the T20I series, whereas Hayden Walsh is the only spin option included in setup.
On the other New Zealand, Captain Kane Williamson and pacer Trent Boult have been rested for the three-match T20I series. The duo was involved with their respective franchises in the Indian Premier League and will be looking to make adequate preparations for the two-match Test series.
Uncapped Devon Conway and Kyle Jamieson have been included in the T20I squad for the home series.
Pacer Tim Southee will be interim captain for the side for this three-match T20I series. He will be hoping that the home side can start their home season on a positive note.
In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill and Tim Siefert to make notable contributions with the bat in this series.
Wicket-keeper Glenn Phillips has been recalled into the T20I squad after doing exceedingly well for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League played earlier this year. Uncapped Kyle Jamieson has earned his maiden call-up to the T20 squad after doing exceedingly well against India at home earlier this year.
