Schedule, Fixtures for Sri Lanka vs England 2021

After a successful home season last year, England will be looking to continue excellent form when they tour Sri Lanka to play two-match Test series, starting from 21st January at Galle. England Skipper Joe Root will be hoping that the side can deliver a strong show. In their last trip in 2018, England completed their maiden whitewash over Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.

All-rounder Ben Stokes and pacer Jofra Archer have been rested for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Ben Foakes have named in the Test squad as reserve wicket-keeper, while Olly Stone, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes are available for this series.

Uncapped batsman Daniel Lawrence has been included in the Test squad for the Sri Lanka series.

In the batting department, the onus will be on the experienced players like Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler to lead the way for the visitors.

The likes of Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, and Dominic Bess will be looking to make an impression on their first tour to Sri Lanka.

Experienced duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad has been included for the two-match Test series. Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes are quality all-rounders named in the Test squad for Sri Lanka series.

On the other hand, Dimuth Karunaratne-led unit suffered a 2-0 whitewash against South Africa in Test series. Angelo Matthews, Oshada Fernando and Kasun Rajitha will be fit and available for the two-match series.

Batting all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva has been ruled out of the Test series due to a torn thigh. Lahiru Thiramanne has been named as replacement for Dhananjaya for this series.

Experienced players like Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Perera showed excellent form for Sri Lanka in the recently concluded tour of Sri Lanka. The team management will be hoping that the side can continue their good from in this two-match series.

With Angelo Matthews fully recovering from injury, the home side will be hoping that he can deliver big scores in this series.

Leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga certainly made a decent impression in his debut series in South Africa. With conditions ideal for spinners, Hasaranga will have a great opportunity to make an impact with the ball against England.

Besides Hasaranga, Lasith Embuldeniya and Dilruwan Perera are other prominent spinners for the side for this series.

Vishwa Fernando, Suranga Lakmal and Asitha Fernando are leading pacers for the side for England series.
