Schedule, Fixtures for Sri Lanka vs England 2018-19

Hosts Sri Lanka will be looking to bounce back strongly after a poor show in the recently concluded Asia Cup competition played in the UAE. Sri Lanka will host England for a full-fledged series and will play five ODIs, one-off T20I followed by three Tests in the month of October and November.

Newly-appointed Sri Lankan Captain Dinesh Chandimal will need to find the right combination to make sure they can put up a strong show against England in the coming five-match one-day series. Chandimal will need to do the bulk of the scoring and also produced runs in the warm-up game for Sri Lanka’s Board XI against England.

Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya De Silva, and Upul Tharanga will be crucial for Sri Lanka in the upcoming one-day series against England. Niroshan Dickwella and Sadheera Samarawickrama make their comeback into Sri Lanka’s one-day squad. Thisara Perera and Dasun Shanaka are genuine all-rounders picked for England series.

Akila Dhananjaya is the premier bowler for Sri Lanka in one-day cricket over the past six months. Lakshan Sandakan and Amila Aponso are other spinners included in the Sri Lankan one-day squad.

On the other hand, England will be keen to continue good run in limited-overs cricket.  They have notched up memorable victories in England and New Zealand. England also beat India in the three-match series played in England. Eoin Morgan clearly stated that the side would be looking to make amends for their poor record in Sri Lanka in the coming one-day series.

Jason Roy, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow are all quality players that will be keen to do well in subcontinent conditions.

Mark Wood has been England’s premier bowler in one-day cricket. He certainly generates a lot of pace and bowls well at the back end of the innings. Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes are clever bowlers, who will try to mix up their pace to provide breakthroughs for England. Spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali have done a commendable job for England in limited-overs cricket.
