Schedule, Fixtures for Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2019

Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour Pakistan to play two-match Test series in the month of December. It will be Sri Lanka first Test series in the country after 2009 Terrorist Attack in Lahore. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne will be hoping that the side can continue their excellent form in this Test series. The side have improved considerably as a Test unit since their historic series win in Sri Lanka. Earlier this  season, Sri Lanka secured a draw against New Zealand in two-match series.

Sri Lanka have announced their squad for the two-match series that starts from 11 December. Pacer Kasun Rajitha has been come in as a replacement for Akila Dhananjaya, who has been suspended for 12 months after his bowling action was declared by International Cricket Council (ICC).

In the batting department, the side will be banking on the likes of Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis and Angelo Matthews to produce the bulk of the runs. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne has topped the batting charts for Sri Lanka in Test cricket so far this season. Left-hander has accumulated 427 runs in 6 matches at an average of 35.58 with one century and two half-centuries to his name.

Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella have contributed with crucial scores for the side in Test cricket this season.

In the bowling department, the side will be relying on the likes of Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara and Lasith Embuldeniya to provide crucial breakthroughs. Pacer Vishwa Fernando has topped the batting charts for the side so far this season. Left-arm quick has claimed 16 wickets in 3 Test matches at an average of 24.75.

On the other hand, Pakistan have made two changes to their Test squad for this home series. Fawad Alam makes a comeback after a period of ten years and will replace  Iftikhar Ahmed, who did not much with the bat in the Test series against Australia.

Rookie pacer Muhammad Musa has been replaced by Usman Shinwari, who will be looking to make an impact  with the ball for Pakistan in this series.

In the batting department, the side will be depending on the likes of Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq and Shan Masood to deliver the bulk of the runs. Babar Azam was the standout performer for the side in the previous series played against Australia. He will be looking to continue his rich vein of form with the bat in this two-match Test series.

This year, Babar Azam has shown splendid form with the bat for Pakistan in Test cricket. He has accumulated 354 runs in 4 matches at an average of 44.25 with one century to his name. Besides Babar, Asad Shafiq, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan also chipped in with decent scores for Pakistan in the previous series played in Australia.

All eyes will be on captain Azhar Ali, whose lean continued with the bat in the two-match series played against Australia. He has struggled to score runs for the side this year and is averaging 10.62 in four matches played so far this season. Azhar Ali will determined to put in big scores in order to silence his critics and help Pakistan get back to winning ways in Test cricket.

In the bowling department, the side will be relying on the likes of Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas and Shaheen Shah Afridi to make crucial breakthroughs. Usman Shinwari is another exciting pace option for the side for this two-match series.
