Schedule, Fixtures for Pakistan Super League 2020

Pakistan Super League 2020 is scheduled to be played in the month of February and March in Pakistan. The fifth edition of the league will take across four venues in Pakistan. All the 34 matches will be played in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi. PSL draft produced plenty of high-profile acquisitions by the five franchises.

Two-time PSL Champions, Islamabad United, will be looking to make serious dash at the trophy.  The acquisition of Colin Munro, Colin Ingram and Dawid Malan will certainly bolster the batting resources for this year’s competition. United have suffered a setback as South African pacer Dale Steyn and middle-order Rassie van der Dussen will not be available for this year’s competition.

Defending Champions Quetta Gladiators will be looking to start their campaign on a positive note. Sarfaraz-led unit will be keen to replicate the performances produced in the previous edition of the league. Franchise have acquired new players for the coming season. Tymal Mills, Jason Roy, Ben Cutting and Keemo Paul are players that will certainly strengthen the squad for this year’s tournament.

Peshawar Zalmi is the most popular among cricket fans in Pakistan and around the world. Darren Sammy will continue to lead the side for this year’s competition. 2017 Champions have made notable acquisitions for this season. English trio of Tom Banton, Liam Livingstone and Lewis Gregory will bolster batting resources for the coming season. West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite will be keen to make an impression in his debut PSL season.

Karachi Kings will be looking to turn their fortunes around this season. The side led by Imad Wasim, will be determined to make an impact in the fifth edition of the league. Last year, Karachi Kings qualified for the playoffs but suffered at the hands of Islamabad United in the Eliminator 1 game played at National Cricket Stadium in Karachi. Newly appointed Head Coach Dean Jones will be hoping that the Kings can go the distance in this year’s competition.

Lahore Qalandars will need to make better plans in order to get the desired results in the fifth edition of league. Qalandars have been the biggest underachievers in the history of the competition and will be looking to turn the tide in their favor this season. Middle-order batsman Sohail Akhtar will be captain of the franchise, while Aaqib Javid will resume coaching duties for this season. Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, Dane Vilas, Lendl Simmons and Samit Patel will bolster the batting department for Lahore this season.

The last and sixth franchise to participate in the league is Multan Sultans. The franchise will be keen to make an impression in this year’s tournament. Opening batsman Shan Masood will lead the side for the coming season. Sultans have managed to some excellent choices in the PSL draft that took place in December. In-form Rilee Rossouw, Imran Tahir and Moeen Ali will bolster the resources for Sultans for the coming season. Bilawal Bhatti, Ravi Bopara and Fabian Allen are three all-rounders signed by the franchise for the coming season.
