England is scheduled to tour New Zealand in the month of November to play five T20Is and two Tests. The visitors will start their campaign with two practice games that will be played in Whangarei. Eoin Morgan will lead England for the upcoming five-match T20I series that will begin from 1st November.
On the other hand, New Zealand have yet to announce their squad for the T20I series. Kane Williamson and co. will be hoping to start the new season on a positive note.
England have decided to rest their experienced players for the five-match T20I series. Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes have been rested in order to make adequate preparations for the two-match Test series that starts from 21st November.
The selection committee has decided to new players an opportunity to showcase their mettle with bat and ball in the upcoming five-match T20I series.
Wicket-keeper batsman Tom Banton has been standout performer in this year’s Vitality T20 Blast competition. He finished as second on the list for most runs in the competition. Banton accumulated 549 runs in 13 outings at an average of 42.23 with a strike rate of 161.47, which includes one century and four half-centuries.
Dawid Malan and James Vince also performed well in this year’s competition. The duo scored over 400 runs for their respective teams in this Vitality T20 Blast tournament.
Uncapped pace duo of Patrick Brown and Saqib Mahmood have been included in the squad for the five-match T20I series. Leg-spinner Matthew Parkinson also performed for Lancashire in this year’s Vitality T20 Blast.
For the Test series, Four uncapped players have been included in England squad for New Zealand tour. Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope will be looking to make an impression with the bat in their debut series.
On the other hand, Lancashire duo of Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Parkinson will provide options for the two-match Test series.
England Captain Joe Root will be hoping that the side can produce a decent show with the bat and ball against New Zealand in the upcoming Test series. Rory Burns, Joe Denly, Jack Leach have retained their place in the squad while Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer were automatic selections for this tour.
