West Indies will be keen to continue their good run in Test cricket when they tour India to play two tests, five one-day internationals and three T20Is.
The tour is set to start from 4th October when West Indies take on India in the opening game of the Test series at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajput.
India will be looking to start afresh after a disastrous tour of England. Indian Captain Virat Kohli will have time to address issues concerning key positions in the playing XI. Lokesh Rahul is set to open the innings for India in the series after his sublime ton in the final game against England.
Prithvi Shaw is surely going to make his debut for India as Shikhar Dhawan has been dropped from the side. The youngsters will be keen to make an impression in this short series. Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari are also included in the squad for the series.
Ajinkya Rahane will under the spotlight given his poor run of form against England. He will need to produce runs or players like Agarwal will take place in the lineup. Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Siraj richly deserve their ascent to the national side due to their consistently good performances in the domestic competition. Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been rested due to a grueling schedule over past six months.
On the other hand, West Indies will be keen to upstage India in their backyard. Kraigg Brathwaite has been a standout performer for West Indies in Test cricket. Shai Hope, Simron Hetmyer and Roston Chase have been in good form coming into this series.
Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder also have made crucial contributions with the bat. In the bowling department, Shannon Gabriel and Kemar Roach have been excellent as a new-ball pair. Jason Holder, Devendra Bishoo and Miguel Cummins have done a decent job as backup bowlers.
