Pakistan is all set to tour England to play one-off T20I followed five one-day internationals in the month of May. The side will start their tour with two warm-up games against Kent and Northamptonshire. Sarfaraz and co. will also play a 20-over game against Leicestershire.
The side will lock horns with England in a one-off T20 game that will be played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Pakistan have named 17-member squad for the tour of England. However, Leg-spinner Shadab Khan, all-rounder Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez are suffering from injuries.
Malik and Hafeez will also miss the first two one-day games of the series against England. It will certainly be a great opportunity for the likes of Haris Sohail, Abid Ali and Mohammad Hasnain to make an impression on their first trip to the UK.
Pace bowler Mohammad Amir and middle-order Asif Ali have been included in the limited-overs squad.
On the other hand, uncapped Jofra Archer, Joe Denly and James Vince have been included in the limited-overs squad. Vince came in as a last-minute replacement for Alex Hales, who was dropped from the squad after failing to clear a drug Test.
Captain Eoin Morgan will be hoping that the side can start their home season on a good note against Pakistan. The side will be keen to produce their best cricket in order to prepare well ahead of Cricket World Cup that will be played in England from 30th May.
Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root will form the top-order for England for the one-day series. Bairstow is coming into this one-day series on the back of scintillating performances produced in the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
All-rounder Ben Stokes will be looking to find form with the bat in this one-day series. He will need to rediscover his mojo with bat and ball for England in this upcoming five-match one-day series that will begin from 8th May.
Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali and David Willey are quality all-rounders in the squad that have delivered credible performances with bat and ball.
Leg-spinner Adil Rashid is the premier spinner for the side in limited-overs format. He will be looking to continue his good form in this upcoming one-day series.
The one-off T20 game between England and Pakistan will be played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on 5th May. The opening game of the one-day series will be played on 8th May at The Oval in London.
