Schedule, Fixtures for 2020 Indian Premier League

2020 Indian Premier League will be played in the United Arab Emirates from 19th September till 10th November. The cash-rich league was originally scheduled to be played in India but due to covid-19 Pandemic , BCCI suspended the competition indefinitely. BCCI were lucky to find a window for the tournament this year after ICC cancelled 2020 T20 World Cup was scheduled to be played in Australia.

A total of 60 matches will be played across three venues- Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Four time Champions Mumbai Indians will be looking to defend their crown successfully this year. The franchise hav suffered a setback as Lasith Malinga has been ruled out of the competition. James Pattinson has been named as Malinga’s replacement. Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Dhawal Kulkarni have been roped in by the franchise for the 2020 Indian Premier League.

Chennai Super Kings will have to  work their playing combinations after their senior players in Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the competition due to personal reasons. England all-rounder Sam Curran and pacer Josh Hazlewood are the two notable signings for Chennai Super Kings for 2020 Indian Premier League

Delhi Capitals will be looking to make a serious dash at the trophy this year. The franchise signed players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shimron Hetymer and Marcus Stoinis to bolster their batting resources. On the other hand, Delhi have suffered minor setback as England opener Jason Roy and all-rounder Chris Woakes will not be available for this year’s competition. Spinner Ravichandran and pacer Anrich Nortje have been signed by the management to bring more variety to the bowling attack.

Lokesh Rahul has been named captain for the franchise Kings XI Punjab. Glenn Maxwell and James Neesham have been signed by the franchise for the coming IPL season.  West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell and England pacer Chris Jordan have been signed to strengthen bowling attack.

2016 IPL Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad have managed to retain their core group of players for the coming season. Kane Williamson, David Warner, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi will be available for this year’s competition. Mitchell Marsh and Fabian Allen are genuine all-rounders bought by the franchise for the 2020 Indian Premier League.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have decided to bring in new players in order to turn their fortunes this season. Australian opener Aaron Finch, Sri Lankan all-rounder Isuru Udana and South African all-rounder Chris Morris are notable acquisitions made by Royal Challengers Bangalore this season.

Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal have been signed by Rajasthan Royals for the coming season. South African T20 Specialist David Miller is another notable signing for Royals, while Tom Curran, Andrew Tye and Mayank Markande will definitely bolster the bowling resources.

Two-time IPL Champions, Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Australian pacer Pat Cummins for a whopping price of 15.5 crore (US $2.2 million) for the coming season. England’s duo of Eoin Morgan and Tom Banton have been signed by the franchise.
