Royal Challengers Bangalore at last produced a clinical performance with the bat and ball to defeat Delhi Daredevils by 10 runs. The 56th game of Indian Premier League was played at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. Rishabh Pant fought hard for Delhi as he scored 45 runs but could take his across the finish line to see Bangalore break their duck with a win after suffering consecutive defeats in previous games.
Pawan Negi and Harshal Patel were the pick of the bowlers for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they took three wickets apiece to derail Delhi’s hopes of winning their last game at home. Travis Head also bagged two wickets in an over. Mohammad Shami scored 21 runs as game went down the wire. Avesh Khan started the slide for Delhi as they took out Sanju Samson in the first over of the chase. Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer got off to starts and registered double digit scores but could not stay long at the crease to take Delhi to win the game.
Earlier, RCB won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle played well as the side managed to post 161 runs off 20 overs. Kohli scored 58 runs off 45 balls and smashed three sixes in his innings while Pat Cummins was the standout bowler for Delhi.
