Gujarat Lions pulled off a comfortable win against Mumbai Indians to seal their place in the playoffs in crucial game in the Indian Premier League. Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina put on a 96 run partnership to guide Gujarat Lions to a six wicket win over defending Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians still have a chance to sneak through if Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders lose their last games respectively. Suresh Raina won the toss and decided to bowl first on a good track prepared at Kanpur. Mumbai batted first as Martin Guptill departed early on 7 while Rohit Sharma bedazzled everyone with his stroke play but his stay was short-lived as he was dismissed on 30 runs.Nitish Rana turned out to be the mainstay of the innings as he scored 70 runs off 36 balls and hit seven boundaries and four sixes.Nitish Rana knock provided Mumbai Indians with some stability in the middle overs. Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina came on and build a crucial partnership as Gujarat Lions steered along nicely towards the target.
