Quinton de Kock’s scores a splendid century as Delhi Daredevils defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets

The eleventh game in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League saw Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Delhi Daredevils at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium,Bangalore.The game was particularly a high scoring one as Quinton de Kock magical ton in the chase sealed the win for Daredevils by 7 wickets.

Virat Kohli continued his magical run and produced a sublime 79 runs off 48 balls to take Royal Challengers Bangalore to post 191 for 5 after 20 overs.AB De Villiers also scored 55 runs off 33 balls and Shane Watson came in late to produce a nice cameo of 33 runs off 19 balls.Later Quinton de Kock century mesmerized cricket fans to another level as it helped Delhi Daredevils register their first win against Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2010.

Quinton De Kock played a memorable knock of 108 runs off 51 balls that included fifteen fours and three sixes.He was well supported by Karun Nair who scored unbeaten 54 runs off 42 balls to seal the victory for Delhi Daredevils in the last over. Zaheer Khan made a nice decision to bowl first after winning the toss keeping in mind Virat Kohli’s batting prowess of chasing scores at will.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore lost tne early wicket of Chris Gayle who failed yet again to make any contribution but Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers laid a perfect foundation of 107 runs for other batsmen to go big in the final overs in order to  post a huge target.The Delhi Daredevils did peg things back as  Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last four overs scored only 27 runs due to valiant bowling performances in the death overs produced by fast bowlers Chris Morris and Mohammad Shami.

Delhi Daredevils did suffer a setback when Shane Watson dismissed by Shreyas Iyer due to stunning effort by David Wiese.Quinton de Kock in his century was particularly aggressive on a width provided on the off side as he struck three boundaries off spinner Parvez Rasool in his second over. The Royal Challengers bowlers did concede a lot runs as Amit Mishra and Pawan Negi did bowled well as spinners did outperform fast bowlers on the batting friendly surface produced at M Chinnaswamy,Bangalore.

The win is a morale boosting one for Delhi Daredevils due to terrific knock played by Quinton de Kock while Royal Challengers Bangalore conceded their first defeat of this year’s Indian Premier League.
