Quetta Gladiators pulling off a heist against Qalandars in a high scoring game

The match played between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars provided all the thrills and spills as game saw over 400 runs scored at Dubai Cricket Stadium,United Arab Emirates.

Lahore Qalandars, to stay in the competition and secure a position in the playoffs needed to win this match.Quetta Gladiators had already made it through to the next round.

The skipper for Gladiators Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to field first.

Lahore Qalandars got off to a breezy start courtesy of some aggressive and brute force shown by Chris Gayle who ripped apart all the bowlers and made a quickfire 60 runs that included three fours and six sixes. Azhar Ali provided handy support as he also found form and scored 60 runs off 45 balls to produce the best launching pad for other batsmen such as in-form Delport and Akmal still to come to the crease.

The opening duo of Chris Gayle and Azhar Ali put on a partnership of 108 runs. Umar Akmal came late to the crease and produced a swashbuckling fifty to take Qalandars score past 200 runs.Dwayne Bravo also made 17 runs to take the score to 201 runs after 20 overs.

In reply,Quetta Gladiators got off to shaky start as Ahmed Shehzad got pinned leg before by medium pacer Ehsan Adil but youngster Bismillah Khan rose to the occasion and scored fifty runs off 30 balls.

Bismillah Khan came along with Kevin Pietersen to kick start the Gladiators reply in order to chase down the mammoth total as they put together over 70 runs to keep their team in the hunt.Kumar Sangakkara also played a crucial knock of  37 runs and played aggressively to keep the scoreboard ticking along nicely with the required asking rate.

Ehsan Adil took two wickets in a space of one run by taking prized  scalps of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Kumar Sangakkara to bring his team back into the match.

Mohammad Nabi played a great cameo of 30 runs and steered his team to victory by two wickets after all looked lost when Qalandars nabbed the wickets of Grant Elliott,Anwar Ali and Muhammad Nawaz to leave Gladiators placed at 186 for 8 wickets.

The win for Quetta Gladiators takes them at the top of table in the  Pakistan Super League as  Lahore Qalandars chances to qualify for playoffs look bleak as they will hope that Peshawar Zalmi can win their match against Karachi Kings.

The event has reached fag end of the tournament as each match will be crucial teams like Karachi Kings,Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United needing all the work to do to get through for playoffs while Zalmi and Gladiators have already secured their place in next stage.
