Peshawar Zalmi outgun Lahore Qalandars by 17 runs at Dubai

Peshawar Zalmi produced a good performance with the bat and ball to register a victory in a must-win game against Lahore Qalandars played at Dubai. Peshawar Zalmi put a good score on the board as Qalandars had to chase down 167 runs from 20 overs.

Chasing a target of 167 runs, Lahore Qalandars faltered badly in the pursuit of the score as they slumped to 43 for 6 after 5.4 overs. Cameron Delport was the only who got 32 runs off 15 balls while the rest of the middle order register single digit score to see Qalandars in all sorts of trouble at the halfway mark. The late order did produce a fightback of sorts but in the end it was too late Lahore fell 17 runs short of the target.

Darren Sammy won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first. Peshawar lost Tamim Iqbal and Muhammad Hafeez early in the innings.Kamral Akmal played a solid innings under pressure to hold the innings together for Peshawar. He scored a well-deserved half century and struck nine boundaries in his innings. Shakib-ul-Hasan also chipped in with crucial 30 runs to see the Peshawar register a score of 167 runs from 20 overs. Yasir Shah once again was impressive with his leg-spin on the night.

Mohammad Hafeez and Shakib-ul-Hasan were successful with the ball for Peshawar Zalmi as a win here takes the side an inch closer to qualify for the playoffs of the competition.
