Pakistan ready for improve show in do-or-die encounter

Men in Green face New Zealand in the second T20I of the three-match series on Thursday

Pakistan will be desperately looking to turn their fortunes around when they will face New Zealand in the second T20I of the three-match series in Auckland on Thursday. The Men in Green had a horrid beginning of in shortest format of the game well, where they were beaten comprehensively by seven wickets by the home side.

The pattern of the defeat, and not the defeat itself, would be a more worrying thing for the team management, as the batting once again collapsed on the tour and could not put anything significant on the board. There were some question marks regarding the team selection as well in the opening match, as a veteran all-rounder and relatively in-form Mohammad Hafeez was left on the bench.

There are at least two changes expected in the final eleven for the Thursday’s clash, as opener Ahmad Shahzad and all-rounder Aamir Yamin can return to the final eleven in place of Umar Amin and Mohammad Nawaz, whereas Hafeez’s inclusion remains a mystery for now.

In the batting department, the team management will be banking on the likes Haris Sohail and Babar Azam to provide the much-needed lift, whereas the form of captain Sarfraz Ahmed is being a real cause of concern for the visitors and coach Mickey Arthur, in particular, will be hoping for a much better show from the wicketkeeper-batsman.In the bowling department, one out of Rumman Raees and Hasan Ali is likely to make way for Yamin.

For New Zealand, things look at ease, to say the least as there are no major shakeups expected for the second match, except one, as captain Kane Williamson is likely to resume his duty after missing the opening game due to a side strain. The pitch is expected to be on the slower side which is a good news for team Pakistan, whereas the weather is expected to stay fine throughout.
