Pakistan Cricket Board puts plan for Shahid Afridi’s farewell game on the back-burner

Shahid Afridi who has not played a game for Pakistan since dismal show at WorldT20 in India has finally made a decision to leave the game of cricket. Pakistan Cricket Board also has stated that they will plan a perfect farewell to give befitting tribute to one of the greats of the game in the modern era for Pakistan such as Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal.

Afridi hinted his retirement with the respect to the upcoming T20 series against West Indies on the desert shores of UAE.There are no concrete plans laid by the Board in terms of farewell for Afridi.Shahid Afridi speaking to media channel said that in Pakistan former greats have snubbed and robbed off a perfect sendoff so PCB should make concerted efforts to provide adequate farewell to the greats of the game to ensure such traditions could continue and aspire millions of cricketers taking up the game in the future.

He said that he discussed his situation with Chairman of Selectors Inzamam-ul-Haq since he considers him as an elder brother and great cricketing brain to come to particular conclusion. The decision lies with the board in terms of what to do with the players who depart from the game in an unusual fashion as hinted by the former all-rounder.Afridi said that he has served Pakistan Cricket for almost two decades and has earned the right to leave the game on a high.
