Najibullah Zadran scintillating batting performance helped Afghanistan in registering a comfortable win against Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20I game of 2019 Bangladesh Tri-series in Dhaka on Saturday.
The day started with Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza winning the toss and opting to bowl first in excellent batting conditions.
At one stage, it looked that Afghanistan might not score more than 170 runs after losing four wickets for just 90 runs in the 13th over of the innings.
But a 107-run partnership between Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi helped the team in post a competitive score of 197 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Najibullah Zadran remained not out on 69 off 30 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes, whereas Nabi scored 38 off 18 balls with the help of four sixes.
Wicket-keeper batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz also played exceedingly well and scored 43 off 24 balls with help of 5 four and 2 sixes.
For Zimbabwe left-arm spinner Sean Williams was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed figures of two for 16 in his four overs.

In reply, Zimbabwe put in a credible batting effort against a formidable spin trio of Afghanistan and managed to score 169 for 7 in their 20 overs.
Middle-order Regis Chakabva finished the innings for Zimbabwe with the top score of 42 off 22 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes, whereas Brendan Taylor and Ryan Burl scored 27 and 25 runs respectively.
For Afghanistan, Leg-spinner Rashid Khan was the star of the show once again as he claimed figures of two for 29 in his four overs.He was well-supported by pace duo of Karim Janat and Fareed Malik, who picked three wickets between them.
For his splendid batting performance, Najibullah Zadran was awarded man of the match.
