Mumbai Indians produced a clinical performance with the bat and ball to outclass Sunrisers Hyderabad in the tenth game of Indian Premier League 2017. Mumbai have slowly gained momentum after beating Kolkata Knight Riders and Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in back to back games. Harbhajan Singh and Jaspreet Bumrah took five wickets between them to restrict Sunrisers to a modest score of 158 runs off 20 Overs. Nitish Rana once again played well for Mumbai as he scored unbeaten 45 runs off 36 balls to take his side to win the game in the 18th over. With this win, Mumbai now are at third place in overall points table in the Indian Premier League 2017.
Parthiv Patel and Jos Buttler have given decent starts at the top of the order for Mumbai but the middle order has not clicked as a whole with exception Nitish Rana. Patel played his best innings as he smashed five fours in his innings. Rohit Sharma failed in this game as well as he has scored just nine runs in three matches played so far. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers with three wickets while leg-spinner Rashid Khan bagged one wicket.
Nitish Rana played well again and was supported by Krunal Pandya to see Mumbai win the game by six wickets in the 18th over.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner started off the proceedings for Sunrisers on a right note to put on a 81 run partnership for opening wicket. The departure of both the openers saw the defending champs lose momentum as Deepak Hooda and Yuvraj Singh fell in quick succession to see them lose last 7 wickets for just 77 runs. Ben Cutting scored 20 runs off 10 balls while the rest of the lineup did not make any contribution to see them put up a modest total of 158 runs from 20 overs.
Mumbai are now placed at the top half of the table while Sunrisers have suffered a timely blip to rethink about their overall team combination for the upcoming games in the Indian Premier League.
