Nath scored 24 off 20 balls with the help of one six and a four. Ravendra Jadeja dismissed him in the 13th over to see RCB lose their third wicket.
Parthiv Patel scored a crucial half-century to help Royal Challengers Bangalore post a competitive score on the board. Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali also chipped in with crucial cameos to help RCB post 161 for 7 in 20 overs.
For Chennai, Deepak Chahar, Ravendra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo picked up two wickets apiece. Imran Tahir also bowled and conceded 31 runs from his four overs.
