Kings XI Punjab rout Delhi Daredevils by ten wickets

Kings XI Punjab produced a first-rate performance with bat and ball to storm to a ten-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils in the 36th game of Indian Premier League played at Mohali. Delhi was simply woeful to watch as they got bundled out of 67 runs and therefore recorded their lowest ever score since inception of the league in 2008. Kings climbed to fifth spot and also improved their net run-rate after putting up a comprehensive win over Daredevils. Sandeep Sharma was star with the ball as his opening spell deflated the top order of Delhi to take four wickets. While openers Martin Guptill and Hashim Amla chased down the runs inside eight overs.

Daredevils had got the better of Punjab in the previous encounter at Feroz Shah Kotla but this time situation was totally different as hosts Kings XI won the toss and opted to bowl first. The surface had some zip and carry which was adequately exploited by Sandeep who dismissed three players inside Powerplay. Karun Nair was designated captain for Delhi as Zaheer Khan is ruled out of injury due to hamstring problem. Varun Aaron and Aksar Patel took four wickets apiece.

Delhi with this defeat sit last in points table while Punjab are with 8 points from nine games played so far in the tenth edition of Indian Premier League.
