Usman Khuwaja’s brilliant innings which was backed up Mitchell Starc’s brilliant bowling performance helped Australia register a comfortable win over New Zealand at Lords Cricket Ground.
The day started with Australia Captain Aaron Finch winning the toss and opting to bat first.His decision proved a proved to be a correct one as Australia work hard for their runs and posted 243 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs.
The star of the show was middle-order Usman Khuwaja, who was in terrible form before the match, but managed to score a crucial half-century and finished the innings with the top score of 88 off 129 with the help of five boundaries. Khuwaja was well supported by wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey, who scored 71 off 72 balls with the help of 11 fours.

Captain Kane Williamson finished the top score of 40 off 51 balls with the help of two fours whereas middle-order batsman Ross Taylor scored 30 off 54 balls with the help of two boundaries.
For Australia, left-arm quick Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers, as he claimed five wickets and gave 26 runs in his 9.4 overs.
