Kevin Pietersen played a mesmerizing innings with the bat for Quetta Gladiators to silence his detractors after a string of low scores in this edition of Pakistan Super League. Pietersen looked focused and smashed every bowler to all parts of the ground to help side chase down a huge total of 200 runs posted by Lahore Qalandars at Sharjah.
The right-handed batsman top scored for the Gladiators with 88 runs off 42 balls while Rossouw and Sarfaraz chipped in with vital contributions to see the side go top of the points table with three wins under their belt. Pietersen in his quick-fire innings smashed eight towering sixes and three fours to keep his side in the hunt to chase down the score posted by Lahore. Quetta Gladiators became the first side in this edition to chase down a score of 200 runs in the league.
Earlier in the day, Lahore got off to a brisk start as Jason Roy smashed 26 ball 50 to give the side a good platform to pile on runs in their innings. Fakhar Zaman yet again chipped with valuable 47 runs and smashed six fours to see the side score 200 runs from 20 overs. Mohammad Rizwan and Cameron Delport cashed in on a good platform to put on unbeaten 77-run stand to see the side put 200 runs on the board.
Quetta Gladiators will be pleased that Kevin Pietersen is back into his best with the bat as the side are definitely aiming to play their second straight final this time around as well. Rilee Rossouw and Sarfaraz Ahmed are also chipped with regular scores to help the side go top of table in Pakistan Super League 2017.
