Jos Buttler delivered a spectacular century followed by excellent bowling performances from Chris Morris and Mustafizur Rahman was enough to see Rajasthan beat Sunrisers by a comprehensive margin of 55 runs in 28th match of 2021 Indian Premier League played at Delhi.
The game started with Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson winning the toss and opted to bowl first in decent batting conditions. The decision backfired completely as likes of Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed and Vijay Shankar conceded a lot of runs against the likes of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson.
For Rajasthan Royals, opener Jos Buttler was the stand performer with the bat and notched up first century of the competition this season. He played exceedingly well and finished the innings with the top-score of 124 off 64 balls with the help of eleven fours and eight sixes. He was well supported by Sanju Samson, who chipped in with 48 runs off 33 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Premier spinner Rashid Khan was once again the pick of the bowlers and claimed 1 for 24 in his four overs.
Chasing 220 runs for always going to be tough for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who suffered middle-order collapses in the previous matches played this season. Despite a promising start from Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow, the side lost wickets at crucial stages of the innings.
The middle-order once again offered no resistance as Hyderabad could only score 165 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Manish Pandey scored 31 runs off 20 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes, whereas Jonny Bairstow chipped in with 30 runs off 21 balls.
The likes of Kane Williamson, Kedhar Jadhav, Mohammad Nabi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar put in double-digit scores for the side against Rajasthan.
For Rajasthan, pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris put in excellent performance and claimed three wickets each.
For his blistering 124 runs against Hyderabad, Jos Buttler was named man of the match.
