The 23rd game in the Caribbean Premier League 2016 saw St. Lucia Zouks lock horns against Guyana Amazon Warriors at played Gros Islet in St. Lucia.
A remarkable unbeaten 94 runs from Zouks opener Johnson Charles helped his side register a comprehensive win by 9 wickets against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Charles marvelous effort with the ball meant that Zouks have now won three games in a row and move to no.3 in the points table of the Caribbean Premier League. Johnson Charles shared 150 run unbeaten partnership with Shane Watson after they lost Andre Fletcher in the second over of the innings who was dismissed by left arm seamer Sohail Tanvir to provide Guyana with an ideal start.
Earlier in the day, Guyana batted first after Darren Sammy won the toss and decided to field first. Jerome Taylor struck for Zouks by removing opener Nic Maddinson in the 3rd over of the innings. Dwayne Smith and Chris Lynn put on a 100 run partnership to stabilize the innings. Smith scored 56 runs off 51 balls and struck two sixes in his innings. Chris Lynn top scored for Amazon Warriors by scoring unbeaten 86 runs off 45 balls.He hit six sixes in the innings and helped his side post 159 runs after 20 overs. Shane Watson and Jerome Taylor took two wickets apiece in the innings for St. Lucia Zouks.
The boundary by Johnson Charles off the bowling of leg spinner Adam Zampa sealed the win which meant that Zouks have now won four games in seven matches played.
