India trounce Bangladesh to win their sixth Asia Cup title

Mahmdullah played a superb cameo and try to instill some jitters in the minds of Indian but Virat Kohli and Shihkar Dhawan helped India to a comfortable win by nine wickets to win the Asia Cup for the sixth time since its inception.

Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan added over 90 runs partnership for the second wicket before captain MS Dhoni came out and finished it off in style with unbeaten 20 runs at the end.

Shihkar Dhawan top scored with 60 runs and played some extravagant strokes to provide stability in the India quest to hunt the score down in the final.

Virat Kohli is batting like a dream as he at this moment cant put a foot wrong and produced yet another composed 41 runs.

The match starting with some heavy thunderstorms and with puddles of water seen over the outfield but the rain stopped and ground staff made a quick work to start the game.

India in reply were scoring at a good rate as opener Rohit Sharma departed early as he was dismissed by Al-Amin Hossain to keep Bangladesh in the hunt for the trophy.

Dhawan and Kohli played cautiously and but then Abu Hider came under the cosh with some brilliant stroke play by Indian batsmen.

Bangladesh bowlers looked average but only Taskin Ahmed produced an incisive spell of fast bowling to keep Bangladesh in contention for the win.

The Bangladesh got themselves into a better position after Mahmdullah once again came up with brilliance in the late overs and scored 33 runs off 13 balls to take host to post 120 runs after 15 overs.

He started with playing shots against the likes of Nehra and Hardik Pandya who was taken for 21 runs.Jaspreet Bumrah last over was sensational as he conceded seven runs to restrict Bangladesh.Ravi Ashwin was once again a star with his superb variations in pace and bowling with tremendous guile to fox the opposition Bangladesh.

Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar opened the innings for Bangladesh after put in by Indian captain MS Dhoni who won a crucial toss and fielded first.

Ashish Nehra gave a india breakthrough by dismissing Soumya Sarkar to keep the flow of runs down in the first eight overs.Jaspreet Bumrah also struck trapping Tamim Iqbal in front.The innings did see contributions from all players but no one played a big innings.

The day belonged to India and befittingly so who seemed to be the team way ahead its of sub-continent rivals in this edition of Asia Cup and could be the team to win their WorldT20 for a second time in India.
