Host India will be keen to get back to winning ways when they lock horns with West Indies in the second game of the series at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The home side suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of West Indies in the opening game played in Chennai.
In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who are now the most experienced players in the limited-overs side, to do bulk of the scoring.
There will be added pressure on Captain Virat Kohli, who will be determined to put in a big innings for the side in this game.
Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been a bankable performer for India since the tour of Caribbean. He produced a crucial half-century to help India post a competitive score on the board. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant also delivered a sensible innings and will be keen to continue to make a notable score in this gams as well.
In the bowling department, the team will be banking on pacer Mohammad Shami to damage the opposition’s batting lineup with the new-ball. Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar and Ravendra Jadeja are other prominent bowling options for the side.
The presence of all-rounder Kedhar Jadhav has bolstered the batting lineup for India in this one-day series.
On the other hand, West Indies will be looking to continue their good form after registering a thumping win over India in the opening game of the series played at Chennai.
In the batting department, the team will be heavily relying on the likes of Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran to deliver the bulk of the runs.
In the bowling department, the pressure will be on left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell, right-arm pacer Alzarri Joseph and Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh to deliver the goods.
