Chris Gayle-led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on Dwayne Bravo-led Trinbago Knight Riders in the final of the Caribbean Premier League on Saturday. Both teams are deserving finalist after finishing on top of the table after group matches.

In the playoffs, Patriot thrashed Knight Riders by 38 runs to book the place in the final, courtesy sublime batting performance from the skipper Gayle, who scored 54 off 51 balls with the help of three boundaries.Knight Riders on the other hand had to overcome Guyana Amazon Warrior in the final playoff in a tough run chase, where New Zealand’s Collin Munro played a crucial hand of unbeaten 57 off 51 to guide his side home.

Both teams also met each other twice in the first phase of the tournament, where Trinbago came on top on both occasions, first due to some breath taking batting performance from wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Ramdin, and then due to some Brandon McCullum and Bravo’s blitz in a shortened match.

In the final, Patriots will be heavily depending on captain Gayle to provide once again stability from the top in the batting department. In the bowling department, however, the burden will be on the shoulder of Sunil Narine and captain himself to lead from the front. The pitch is expected to be a good one for batting, whereas the weather is expected to remain clear throughout the match.
