Hosts India keen to seal series against hapless Sri Lanka

India lead three-match T20I series 1-0 win 93-run win on Wednesday

Dispirited Sri Lanka will look for a much better show when they will face India in a do-or-die encounter in the second T20I in Indore on Friday. The visitors suffered a demoralizing defeat in the opening match of the series, courtesy sublime bowling performance from young leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who tore apart their batting lineup.

Come Friday, captain Thisara Perera will be hoping that his team can overcome their troubles, especially against the wrist-spin duo of Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Perera will be once again depending on opener Upul Tharanga, who looked the best of the lot for the visiting side in his short stay in Cuttack, to put something substantial on the board this time around.

The team management will also hope that veteran all-rounder Angelo Mathews, who is the most experienced player in the lineup, will make himself counted on the big occasion and bring the visiting side back in the series.

In the bowling department, looking at the success of Chahal and Yadav, Sri Lankan team management will be hoping that young Akila Dhananjaya will get more purchase from the wicket.

For team India, thinks look completely at ease, as they look to continue experimenting in the second match as well. In the batting department, the team management will be hoping that young KL Rahul will continue his good form.

Captain Rohit Sharma had a shorter stint in the first game with the bat, and he will be eager to produce a much-improved show on Friday. Wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni, who fired with all cylinders in the first match, will also be expected to continue his good form for the team.

In the bowling department, the focus will be once again on the wrist-spin duo of Chahal and Yadav, whereas after the impressive performance in the first match with the ball, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be keen to continue his good run. The pitch is expected to favor batsmen, whereas there are chances of rain which means the match is expected to be affected.
