Hogg and Russell decimate Delhi Daredevils to start Kolkata Knight Riders campaign on a winning note

The second game of the Indian Premier League 2016 saw Kolkata Knight Riders take on Delhi Daredevils at the Eden Gardens,Kolkata.Knight Riders had some new faces as they did have the likes of Sunil Narine,Morne Morkel and Shakib-ul-Hasan in the lineup.

Well their absence was made up by the likes of premier all rounder Andre Russell and spinner Brad Hogg who completed bamboozled Delhi Daredevil lineup as they bundled out for 98 without completing their full quota of overs.

In reply,Knight rider openers Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa put on a impressive 69 run opening stand to set up nine wicket victory over Delhi.

John Hastings and Andre Russell bowled probing spells for Kolkata Knight Riders as they tried to extract maximum from the surface providing good carry and bounce.The innings faltered for Delhi at the start with opener Quinton De Kock being the first to go off the bowling of Andre Russell to begin the slide in the innings.Gautam Gambhir captaincy was impressive as he kept a positive frame of mind employing two slips throughout the innings.

The chase was easy one for Kolkata Knight Riders as they both openers came out and played freely without any kind of trouble given by the opposition bowlers.Delhi once again has slumped to new lows while Kolkata  Knight Riders start on ideal note in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League
