Gujarat Lions Squad Overview- Indian Premier League 2017

Gujarat Lions tasted tremendous success in their first outing in the Indian Premier League last year as they secured top position in the preliminary stage before losing two consecutive games in the playoffs to end their run in the competition on a disappointing note. Lions made some notable signings for the coming season in Indian Premier League held in February as Jason Roy was bought as England opener has been in explosive form with the bat across T20 format in the last one year.

Gujarat Lions will miss services of their premier bowler Dale Steyn who is ruled out of the league due to shoulder injury. Manpreet Gony, Shelley Shaurya, Pratham Singh, Shubam Agarwal and Tejas Singh Baroka are also valuable additions for the coming tenth edition. Chirag Suri is all set to become first cricketer from UAE to join the squad of Gujarat Lions. Aaron Finch and Brendon McCullum are explosive players in the format and will make a dangerous opening pair in the competition. James Faulkner and Ravendra Jadeja are two all-rounders that are proven performers in the competition.

Suresh Raina will captain the side as last year was successful campaigns despite losing out in knockout games. Gujarat Lions is all set to make their last appearance as two franchises in Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will return next year after completing their suspension.
