Glenn Maxwell led the way with the bat to smash unbeaten quick-fire 20 ball 44 runs to steer Kings XI Punjab to a six-wicket win in the game played at Indore. Kings XI are off to a good start this season largely due to superb efforts of bowlers to restrict Rising Pune to 163 runs from full quota of overs. Ben Stokes played for his half century as he kept the scoreboard ticking along nicely while he took the attack to the left arm spinners such as Axar Patel and Swapnil Singh/
Rising Pune Supergiant were in a spot of bother when Ben Stokes and Manoj Tiwary formed a crucial partnership of 61 runs off 37 balls. Kings XI executed their bowling plans to a tee as they dismissed key players Ajinkya Rahane and Steven Smith for low scores in the early overs of the innings. Tiwary also smashed a few big blows to take the score over 160-run mark.
Imran Tahir again bowled well in this game as well as he dismissed Axar Patel and Wriddhiman Saha. The leggie figures to a beating as Glenn Maxwell smashed him to concede 14 runs in his final over of his spell.
Kings XI would be keen to continue this run as Maxwell and co will look to improve in terms of batting and bowling in the Indian Premier League while Rising Pune have plenty of think before they play their next game.
