West Indies finally produced first-rate performance to win in the third game of the T20 series played at Port of Spain, Trinidad. Evin Lewis looked in imperious touch as he flayed Pakistan bowling lineup to all parts of the ground. The Southpaw unleashed a wide range of strokes to help West Indies chase down a target of 138 runs inside 15 overs. Lewis top scored for West Indies with 91 runs off 51 balls.He struck five fours and nine sixes in his innings.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first on a wicket that looked perfect for batting. Pakistan lost Ahmed Shehzad in the initial overs of the innings as Samuel Badree took his first wicket of the game. Imad Wasim was stumped off the bowling of Badree to see Pakistan lose two wickets with just four runs on the board.
Kamran Akmal added a partnership of 80-odd runs with Babar Azam to see Pakistan in a great position to post over 150 runs from 20 overs. Sunil Narine dismissed Akmal that triggered a collapse as the visitors failed to generate any momentum in terms of scoring runs in the last five overs of the innings.
West Indies lost Chadwick Walton early in the innings but Evin Lewis and Marlon Samuels played well as they kept the scoreboard ticking along nicely by picking boundaries off loose balls and taking singles regularly. Lewis brought up his half century off 34 balls by smoking a huge six off the bowling of leggie Shadab Khan.
With this win, West Indies stay alive in the competition as Pakistan still lead 2-1 in the four-match series with final game to be played on 2nd April at the same venue.
