England all-rounder Ben Stokes ruled out of third Test against Pakistan due to calf injury

England all-rounder Ben Stokes is set to miss the third test against Pakistan at Edgbaston after suffering from a calf injury. He was in the middle of his spell in the second innings of Pakistan at Manchester before experienced pain that saw him being taken out of the field to avoid any serious injury. The injury to Ben Stokes means Steve Finn is slotted into the squad for the third test to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The first test saw the visitors come up trumps and upset England to win by 75 runs with England put in a pitch perfect to trounce Pakistan by 330 runs at Old Trafford, Manchester.Ben Stokes did have a scan on his injury and is going to be monitored closely by England medical staff next week before the game at Edgbaston. England has included fast bowler Jake Ball and leg spinner Adil Rashid in the England squad for the third test against Pakistan that starts on 3rd August.

England coach Trevor Bayliss also stated that Stokes is a vital player in the England setup as he provides an ideal balance with bat and balls.He also said that the injury to Stokes provides opportunity to other players to showcase their skills and make a claim in the side.

England Test squad for Third Test: Alastair Cook (C), Joe Root, James Vince, Alex Hales, Gary Ballance, Chris Woakes, Jonny Bairstow (wicketkeeper), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Steven Finn, Stuart Broad, Jake Ball and Adil Rashid.
